SPIRITABILITY is an organization that seeks to help people with any kind of disability: physical, cognitive, emotional, or otherwise, find the spiritual life that is uniquely theirs. Whether it means attending a faith group that already exists, following a solitary practice, learning to meditate, revisiting the religion of childhood, or exploring completely new paths and ideas, SPIRITABILITY is here to help.
We can work with individuals and groups. We can educate congregations about disabilities and suggest accommodations that meet everyone's needs. We can find providers of spiritual practices that work for each person.
We encourage personal knowledge on every level: physical, mental, emotional, spiritual. Being unable to experience one's own spirituality leads to frustration and misery. Coming into the light of one's own spirit provides deep peace, joy, and a desire to help others find their own unique path. In group settings, we encourage dialogue when appropriate. Ignorance of another's spiritual practices and beliefs often results in fear and rejection. Knowledge brings acceptance and respect, without the need for anyone to change one's own beliefs.
